Funerals and Football

The pub in the village is a mile walk from Casa McCobb, great views along the route and always fringed on one side by the mountains of the Sierra Marie.

Ex-pats filled the ‘Remidios’ cafe-Bar in Los Cerricos for the post funeral drinks and tapas on Thursday (moved from a Friday date). Widow Rosa told me how shocked they were at her husbands quick passing. He was ex Royal Airforce and a fit and well 59 years of age. They had settled into a nice retirement life, new Motorhome just awaiting delivery to enjoy wider reaches in Spain.

After the stroll home I drilled and fitted a hook for the McCobb Moroccan light fitting (sinking the wires will come later), very effective lamp The later evening was guitar lessons from Matt. Demonstrating how to play ‘E’ chord, his musical sense was miffed when I remarked “Ah yes, it’s Pheobe Buffet’s old lady claw hand”. ‘Friends’ on TV was so educational.

Derby Day, and ‘Remidios’ has promised to show the match. Matt is a ‘blue nose’ I’m a ‘red’ – Liverpool v Everton, a good afternoon I hope.

Matt is starting an art project while I’m tackling some little jobs in the villa, no time to start anything big on this Saturday morning.
