Living the dream in Penetanguishene

The strap-line on local TV is neat, and not far off true. Dream times so far in this part of Ontario for me. Today I’ve used the cycle tracks and trails for a few hours. Getting into the cycling groove along the banks of the Bay was decent exercise

The Royal Navy presence here was massive in the early 1800’s. A few replica ships are at the old Naval Dockyard, with the original hull in the grounds.

The old Dockyard buildings look in great shape and the walk round the dockyard is a 3km stroll

The ‘dream’ was broken for a short spell after my cycle around ‘Discovery Harbour’ and ride through the park in town. I hadn’t wanted to leave my canine mates alone too long with me being a new face and the two faces they want to see not around. I returned, And … The house alarm had gone off minutes after I had left. Taking the bike through the side door rather than using the auto garage door had initiated a call-out – oops. While I enjoyed a jumbo Mint ice-cream at the waterfront the alarm company and my Home Owners were waiting to check all was ok. Silver Lining – the alarm procedure exercise ironed out a few things, alls well.

Resting for a spell in the cinema room with ‘picture-in-picture’ TV before a Waterfront stroll to hear local bands, i thought its not a bad life. The boys are good company and make a fuss while I’m home with them. The walks are relaxing and sitting on the dock/pontoon with them either side is therapeutic.Stand-up paddle boarding is the Thursday event target, ahoy, a sea day!
