Valencia – Oceanariums Estupendo!

The three hour drive from Mazarrón to Valencia was another superb scenic feast. The engineering on the railway bridges that cut across dipping plains for miles and between mountain passes is amazing. The villas in orange fields are majestic, then you see steep mountain sides covered with modern town houses.

Valencia’s Holiday Inn Express turned out to be perfect in many ways. Sited outside a Mall with movie theatres, bars and with the Oceanariums park just the other end, thirty minutes walk tops to the city. Saturday night was an Ecuadorean restaurant, at last one was open after the three attempts to eat in one on the last visit to Murcia. I tried maduro queso – delicious, then chaulafan, enjoyed it all. The Oceanarium Park is at least a Two day visit, scuttling round in one day is packed. The 4D Cinema was great. The boating area with a bike-type stand/up board was brilliant, and the couple who tried to swap places in one of the row boats were good sports after overturning. Their smiles may have hid the loss of their wallets and mobiles to the water though?Prisci tried to help from her bubble….Lots to see and do, all standard visitor stuff. The only comic event was Prisci’s failure to recognise the signs for toilets, bumping into her in the gents was a surprise!

And, the weekend must have went well, the thank you bunch of flowers was massive (well maybe better passed to Prisci’s mum for Spain’s later Mother’s Day)
