Swordfish Cup Final and Locked-out, twice!

My plastering is a big shortcoming in my handyman skill set. The scars of lines of post-filled cable routes aren’t pretty. I’m going with it giving a rustic appearance until the walls are skimmed in the future 

A few hours of the day were lost when I went outside to Frankia for my tools and felt a breeze, a little thing in my head was saying ‘warning’ but not why. As I went the four steps out the front door, my sense of the wind, the warning feeling and the click of the front door tore a cry of “Oh No” (yep, those were the words). The doors here do not have handles outside! No key in your pocket, no Cup of tea for some time.

I managed to repeat this cock-up again, but after making the house more secure after easy re-entry first time. Re-entry methods are a secret to share with Matt and Rachel, and here ‘size does matter’. 

Like Sheldon Cooper in ‘The Big BangTheory’ I now have ‘my spot’. Cafe Remidio prepared my tea and table (with cerveza) at exactly kick-off time, and the Swordfish was excellent I had a few messages to catch up with at half time. Some of them were help from my Spanglais amigo. Prisci has a study week for her exams and needs to understand the proper English I use ready for related questions. I’m not sure ‘feeling shattered’, ‘being gobsmacked’ or ‘a quick brew’ will turn up in the question paper, de nada. Chocolate is her answer to study fatigue, walking tiredness – just about everything really – and keeping some handy in her company keeps a smiling mentorGood Luck this week chica.

My daily routine to enjoy the mountain view and practice Spanish (I use the Spanish side of the table menu now) to Remedios Cafe has started to extend as I get to know the locals. The couple who run the place are great people, it’s getting a proper ‘my local’ feel. 

Obviously there is some self-sufficiency with meals, and the new fridge freezer is well stocked for the week

I slept soundly after fixing the last wiring fault with the builders wiring. Do not apply logic, wiring practices or electricians tecnología to any circuit. Colours do not matter, the wires are just twisted together and a bit of tape, connecting live to the lights then switch on the neutral line is a 50/50 possible here! No earth used, so a spare wire that may be the live or neutral depending on the builders fuel intake at siesta. Undoing wall sockets to find where the supply for the light is taken from is novel to me 🤷🏻‍♂️. All done though, and I’m the wiser for any next jobs.
